How It Works
Arizona Virtual Academy (AZVA) is an online public charter school in the State of Arizona, and as a public school their is no tuition. AZVA uses online curriculum and services provided by K12. Our enrolled students have flexibility in where they school. Learning can happen at home, on the road, or wherever an Internet connection can be found. A student's school day can consist of both online and off-line activities.
AZVA uses the high school curriculum from K12, including high-quality, rigorous, research-based curriculum which includes multiple academic course levels allowing students to individualize their experience based on their academic goals and needs. Whether targeting a top-tier, four-year university, a local community college, or an immediate career, AZVA prepares students to maximize their post-high school success.
Certified Teachers, Superior Teaching Tools
At AZVA, all students interact with one or more state-certified, Highly Qualified teachers (depending on the grade level) and communicate regularly with their teachers through e-mail, telephone, online classroom sessions and online meetings. All program materials are provided to complement the interactive online elements of the K12 program, ensuring that students receive instruction using the best method for each subject. In addition, qualifying families may be eligible to receive an Internet subsidy reimbursement at the end of the school year.
Effective Learning, Public School Accountability
As an online public school AZVA provides the structure, administrative support, oversight, accountability, and state testing as required of all public schools.
