Socializing is a Walk in the Park (Or the Zoo!)

At Arizona Virtual Academy (AZVA), we understand that socialization is key to any student’s school experience—even in an online setting! While students at AZVA enjoy the flexibility and benefits of learning from home, they still get plenty of chances to meet up in person, make new friends, and create lasting memories. How do we do that? We organize exciting field trips and events across the state, bringing students together for fun and educational experiences.
Just recently, AZVA students, families, teachers, and staff came together for a special field trip to Heritage Park Zoo in Prescott, AZ. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and, of course, lots of animals! Over 130 students from Arizona Virtual Academy and Insight Academy of Arizona attended, making it one of our biggest events of the year.
Not only did the students get a guided tour of the zoo, but they also got a unique opportunity to attend an animal presentation. They were thrilled to meet tortoises, ferrets, and other amazing animals up close! Watching the excitement and joy on the students’ faces as they shared this experience with one another was a reminder that even though we’re an online school, there’s no shortage of socialization at AZVA.
The best part? Field trips like this happen all the time! From zoos to museums, parks to historical sites, AZVA hosts events throughout the year in various locations across Arizona. This gives students the opportunity to come together in person, explore new places, and make real connections with their peers and teachers.
At Arizona Virtual Academy, we’re committed to giving our students not only a quality education but also a rich and fulfilling social experience. Whether it’s a field trip, virtual clubs, or school-wide events, there are plenty of opportunities for students to connect, have fun, and feel part of our amazing AZVA community.
Stay tuned for more exciting field trips and events coming soon! Who knows where we’ll go next!
